The Saint Paul & Minnesota Foundation (the Foundation) today announced the election of four new members to its board of directors.

They are: Christophe Beck, president and chief operating officer, Ecolab; Clarence Bethea, CEO, Upsie; Nancy Lyons, CEO, Clockwork; and Susan Marvin, chair, The Marvin Companies. Their three-year terms will begin in January 2021.

“We are fortunate to welcome these outstanding business leaders to our board,” said Eric J. Jolly, Ph.D., president and CEO of the Foundation. “The unique perspectives, diverse backgrounds and varied expertise that each will bring will help accelerate progress toward our vision: a just and vibrant Minnesota where all people and communities can thrive.”

Christophe Beck

Christophe Beck

Christophe Beck is president and chief operating officer of Ecolab Inc., the global leader in water, hygiene and energy technologies and services that protect people and vital resources. Since joining Ecolab in 2007, he has held key senior leadership positions, most recently in the company’s global industrial and institutional businesses. Beck was a senior executive at Nestle for 16 years prior to joining Ecolab. In 2006, he became a World Economic Forum Young Global Leader.

Clarence Bethea

Clarence Bethea is founder and CEO of St. Paul-based Upsie, a technology company offering consumers an alternative when purchasing extended warranties for electronic devices and home appliances to consumers. A seasoned entrepreneur who has helped dozens of businesses – from start-ups to Fortune 500 companies – achieve their growth goals, Bethea previously founded 2nd Chance Staffing, providing staffing to distribution centers, and 43 Hoops, a basketball training academy. Bethea is a committed mentor to young people seeking a career in business and entrepreneurship.

Nancy Lyons

Nancy Lyons

Nancy Lyons is CEO of Clockwork, a Minneapolis-based digital agency. She is also a speaker and author on the critical importance of work culture in personal, professional and business success. Lyons has received numerous recognitions, including Most Admired CEO from the Minneapolis / St. Paul Business Journal and Business Owner of the Year from the National Association for Women Business Owners.

Susan Marvin

Susan Marvin

Susan Marvin is chair of The Marvin Companies Board of Directors and the Minnesota Chamber Foundation Board. She also serves on the boards of the M. A. Mortenson Company, the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation and the National Association of Manufacturers. Marvin is a Life Trustee of the University of Minnesota Foundation Board of Trustees and a member of the Young Presidents’ Organization.
