Chisholm Community Foundation

About the Foundation

A group of Chisholm High School alumni and local businesspeople helped establish the Chisholm Community Foundation in 1987. Today, it operates as a permanent community endowment that seeks to enhance the lives of those living in the Chisholm and Balkan areas. A fund of Minnesota Community Foundation, the Chisholm Community Foundation focuses on four areas of importance to the Chisholm community: economic development, arts and culture, education and historic preservation.

The Foundation continues to attract new donors, thanks in part to innovative programs that allow families to direct their charitable giving to favorite causes and organizations. In 2007, the Foundation established a district-wide foundation—The Chisholm Public School Foundation. Businesses also are invited to participate as corporate partners for a commitment of $1,000 per year.

Our Mission

The Chisholm Community Foundation's mission is to be a steward of funds for innovative and creative projects, which are responsive to community and economic development in the areas of social service, education, arts and culture, conservation and historic and environmental preservation.

How the Chisholm Community Foundation Makes a Difference

Since 1987, the Foundation has gifted more than $706,000 to nonprofits serving the Chisholm and Balkan areas. Past recipients include the Chisholm Public Schools and Head Start programs, demonstrating the Foundation’s commitment to education. The Foundation also has supported the Museum of Mining, the Chisholm Police Department and the Chisholm Beautification Association. The Doc Graham Field of Dreams baseball field became a reality with the help of the Foundation.
