Fall 2022 Grant Data
In order to set clearer expectations about the scope and scale of our grantmaking, we are sharing some data from our Fall 2022 grant round.
We received 310 applications in the fall 2022 grant round and approved 166 grants. Grants ranged in size from $10,000 to $75,000 per year, with the largest grants going to capital requests. The average (mean) grant approved was $27,798, and the median was $30,000.

Bigelow Foundation considers grant applications from nonprofit organizations and public entities fostering a vibrant East Metro region and seeking to achieve racially and economically equitable outcomes in the areas of arts & culture, economic & community development, education & youth development, health, housing and human services.
Mardag Foundation makes grants to Minnesota nonprofit organizations and public entities to remove barriers and create opportunities for low income or traditionally marginalized children, youth and families; older adults with barriers to living independently; and to build capacity of organizations supporting the arts and humanities.
