Saint Anthony Park Community Foundation
About the Foundation
The Saint Anthony Park Community Foundation promotes charitable and community activities throughout its historic neighborhood. For its purposes, the Foundation defines the Saint Anthony Park neighborhood as including Saint Paul’s District 12 boundaries, the University Grove area, the 1666 Coffman community, the Saint Paul Campus of the University of Minnesota and the Fulham block of Lauderdale. Thanks to a permanent community endowment totaling nearly $1 million, the Foundation is able to provide financial assistance to a variety of nonprofit organizations and initiatives throughout this area. Grantmaking efforts are focused on these important issues: education, arts and humanities, community economic development, energy conservation, environment, health and housing.
The Foundation provides donors with the option of personalizing their gifts. Donors can support the Foundation’s general endowment, allowing the board of directors to identify worthy projects, or donors may direct their dollars toward special interests and community nonprofits. Alternatively, the Foundation offers flexible options for gifts totaling more than $10,000, which allows donors to support their favorite organization or cause.
How We Make a Difference
Since 1999, the Foundation has provided more than $300,000 in support to the Saint Anthony neighborhood. The Foundation directs financial assistance grants to a variety of community-building initiatives, including Music in the Park and other seasonal festivals. The Foundation routinely invests in landscaping and other beautification efforts that enhance the walkable Saint Anthony Park neighborhood. In addition to supporting area schools, the Foundation sponsors organizations that serve children and families in need, including Keystone Community Services, as well as programs for seniors, including a grant to the Block Nurse program that emphasizes exercise for seniors in the area.
