Rachel Gonzalez

Marketing & Communications Associate

I wholeheartedly share the Foundation’s aspiration of creating a just and vibrant Minnesota where all people and communities thrive.

As the Marketing and Communications Associate, Rachel manages key tasks for the MarComm team. In addition to supporting the team, Rachel co-produces the Foundation’s podcast, I So Appreciate You!, assists with project management, and helps with strategy and content creation for marketing campaigns.

Prior to joining the Foundation in 2022, Rachel worked as an Exhibit Developer at the Science Museum of Minnesota. She has enjoyed a diverse and rewarding career in museums that spanned a decade, having held positions in exhibits and education at institutions such as the Minnesota History Center, the Field Museum, the Glasgow Science Centre, and the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum. Rachel has created exhibits, digital media, and other educational content for museums around the world – she is thrilled to share her expertise in communication and content development with the Foundation.

Rachel grew up in St. Paul and moved away for college in 2009. She attended Loyola University Chicago, where she obtained a BA in Anthropology and began a career in exhibition development at the Field Museum after graduating. Rachel received her MSc in Museum Studies from the University of Glasgow, Scotland, before moving back to Chicago to work at the Field Museum once again. After years of living in different cities, Rachel was drawn back to her true home and moved to the Twin Cities in 2018.

Rachel loves connecting with people and feels her calling is in storytelling, especially when it’s tied to a good mission. She holds a core value of helping others and wholeheartedly shares the Foundation’s aspiration of creating a just and vibrant Minnesota where all people and communities thrive.

In her downtime, Rachel works on passion projects, which include writing novels, illustrating children’s books, and printmaking. Rachel also enjoys practicing yoga, dancing, learning French, baking goodies, traveling to new places, cuddling her two cats, and working on her backyard haven with her husband.
